Today, BOSEbuild officially launches to the public and the Speaker Cube is now available for purchase here on build.bose.com.  Thinking about our launch, Bob Maresca, the CEO and president of Bose recalled this about our founder:  “Dr. Bose was fascinated with electric trains when he was very young. This weekend several members of the BOSEbuild team previewed the Speaker Cube at the National Maker Faire in Washington, DC.  The weather was perfect as over 10,000 attendees toured the various exhibits spread out throughout the campus at the University of DC.  Many of those attending took a few minutes to stop by our booth to participate in a short hands-on demo of the Speaker Cube.  The video below shows what a few of those folks had to say…  

As we started thinking about BOSEbuild and what we might offer, it was really important for the team to learn whether there was enough interest in our product ideas to really excite kids and keep them engaged and interested. So we developed a great partnership with i2 Camp, a Science and Technology focused summer camp. During the Summers of 2014 and 2015 we put together 25 hours of experiments and hands-on activities that would make up a 5-day course to engage kids in the science of sound, music and motion.     As we got more and more excited about the potential for BOSEbuild, we wanted to see if we could grab kids’ attention in a very short amount of time, and build some enthusiasm around discovering how their world works. So we took a five-minute demonstration to the USA Science & Engineering Festival in both 2014 and 2016. Each show had over 300,000 people attending, and we were able to reach thousands of kids and parents with an exciting hands-on show that gave people a taste of the experience we hope to deliver with our first BOSEbuild product.
